I was an honest man
Looking for an honest day's wage
Standing in the center of town waiting to turn the page
And as the day, it turned to night, I was standing all alone
Next thing I know I'm in a tub of ice holding a note
Unsure of what has happened I try to gather clues
In an attempt to recreate the scene
With the stitch on my side I read two minus one equals one
It's half past two in a hotel room
Just off of the interstate
I got my knife, a bag of ice, and some Vaseline
I soak a rag in chloroform as someone stumbles through the door
I knock him out, collect my pay, sew him up and he's okay
And in the end laying upon his hospital bed
He is ecstatic just to be alive
A kidney is all we need and two minus one equals one
You may think that I'm a monster
But I don't agree at all
I'm just trying to make a living
Feed my family
Earn my keep
So in the end when you pass judgement on my choice of a career
